What a tough week it was this past week from my dieting. I don't have a picture today because I have to get to the store and buy some batteries,l but I will have one tomorrow. I hit the 132 lb mark, which is a big deal for me. It is that weight point that is a "break through point" for the many times I have tried to get down to 120 and failed, because I always hit that set point of 134, and can't get past it...but this time hurray, I made it! Tomorrow...some pictures.
I felt really zapped.....
Also, the food I eat is BORING......here it is, the same thing everyday, mainly because I know how many calories each meal actually is, and it is food I can tolerate;
morning 1/2 cup (raw) cooked oatmeal and water
lunch is 10 egg whites, two corn tortillas, 3/4 oz avocado, 1 oz non fat feta, 1 Tb low fat sour cream
afternoon snack is the same
dinner is the same with only 5 egg whites, 1 corn tortilla, no avocado, 1/2 oz nonfat feta, 1 TB of low fat sour cream
snack 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese and Splenda
Of course I supplement my vitamins with Monavie.
After my workout this past Saturday, I decided I needed to get out of the house because I had been feeling sorry for myself , so I went to the movies and I saw (no p0pcorn or candy) the documentary No End In Sight...
After seeing that film, I said that I will not feel sorry for myself again....Those poor people of Iraq. Here I am feeling sorry for myself over a self imposed diet, and these people can barley survive. How shallow of me...
Aunt Sally, if your reading this, you need to go see this documentary about the war. It is an eye opener, and it is put together so well. A must see piece of work.
Then yesterday I went to the movies again and saw In the Valley of Elah....(no candy or popcorn). And once again, I was struck how tragic it is for not only the people of Iraq, but the poor young men and women that are fighting this tragic war. My problems are so small and insignificant....
Anyway...another thing to mention, is the CNN special called American Fed Up..which is about how much food we eat. It is also worth seeing. It really drives home the point at how much food surrounds us...it is really quite tragic.
The main message from the CNN documentary is that we as a nation are mindless eaters. That we will eat what is put in front of us, no matter how much. And because there is so much food always available, we as a nation are constantly putting food in our mouths.
There also appears to be No End In Sight for that problem as well....
Here is a link I stumbled on which is pictures of a bunch of meals that have a maximum of 300 calories...
300 Calorie Meals
Look how small it looks to what we normally see when we eat!

Mindless eaters, yes that is so accurate. Describes me for sure!
It is true that here in this country our problems are usually not about survival or basic human rights. Thank God. But we are so used to it we forget what life is like for many others around the world. Thanks for reminding us (me)!
Cangrats on your weight break through - if the food you listed is what you are eating every day - I would say you are one of the most disciplined people I have ever run across. Wow!

Hey BJ.....I hope all goes well with your biopsy...I was so surprised to read about it.....I am sure you will be fine. But none the less what a drag..huh?
anyway...catch that CNN special, they run it over and over. I feel sorry for the kids growing up around all this temptation!
Yes, I have been very disciplined...thanks for the encouragement. I have 12 more pounds to go, which translates to two more months!
I will watch for your posts for your results.
